Direct, Hassle-Free, Friday Night MCT Muny Express Trips Start June 19

GRANITE CITY, ILL., JUNE 12, 2015... Bring the whole family to experience the St. Louis Muny in Forest Park this summer and enjoy the evening by allowing the Madison County Transit (MCT) Muny Express to whisk you to and from every Friday night performance. With ten convenient pick-up locations in Madison County, the MCT Muny Express continues to be one of the most affordable, convenient and relaxing ways to get to and from the Muny. The stage is set for the 2015 MCT Muny Express season to begin Friday, June 19 with one of the most popular musicals My Fair Lady. The season continues with Tony Award winner Hairspray, Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, Muny Premieres of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story and Into the Woods, as well as fan favorites Beauty and the Beast and Oklahoma. The Muny Express drops-off and picks-up passengers directly in front of the Muny, providing a relaxing, round-trip ride without the hassles of driving and finding a place to park.

MCT Muny Express Fares (one-way) are $3.00 for adults (13 and older); $1.50 for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and children ages 5-12; Free for children under five. Fares for the Muny Express are paid at the time of boarding. Buses will drop-off in front of the Muny, 30-minutes before show time and leave for the return trip 20 minutes after the final curtain from the same location.

Pick-up and drop-off locations in Madison County for the Alton Muny Express are: Alton Square, Alton Atrium Hotel (formally Holiday Inn), Eastgate Plaza, MCT Wood River Station and the River’s Edge Park & Ride on IL-3. The Edwardsville Muny Express picks up at: MCT Edwardsville Station, Leclaire Junction, Cottonwood Mall, Maryville Park & Ride and Gateway Center in Collinsville. Madison County Transit (MCT) provides multi-modal transportation services for Madison County, Illinois. MCT operates a fixed-route bus service, connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis; and seasonal express service to the Rams games and the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route buses, MCT provides complementary door to door service. MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more than 100 miles of bikeways that comprise the MCT Trails system, as well as overseeing RideFinders, the St. Louis region’s FREE carpooling and vanpooling program.
