MCT OFFERS STUDENT BUS PASSES AGAIN THIS SCHOOL YEAR

MCT Student Monthly Passes Go on Sale August 16 for $15

GRANITE CITY, ILL., AUGUST 12, 2010 . . . Madison County Transit (MCT) will again offer students the opportunity to purchase Student Monthly Passes for $15 each month, during the school year. September passes go on sale Monday, August 16. The MCT Student Monthly Pass provides students in Kindergarten through 12th grade unlimited rides each calendar month on MCT Shuttle, MCT Cross County, and MCT Regional routes. Passes are available from September through May.

“The MCT Student Monthly Passes provide an affordable transportation option for students trying to access classes, jobs, after-school activities and co-op programs,” said. MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane.

MCT Student Monthly Passes can be purchased in three ways:
On-Line at www.mct.org, with a credit or debit card.
In Person at the MCT Base of Operations in Granite City with a check, cash, credit or debit card.
By Mail with a check made payable to Agency for Community Transit for $15 sent to: Madison County Transit, c/o Student Monthly Pass, One Transit Way, PO Box 7500, Granite City, IL 62040.

Individuals purchasing the pass by mail or in person should also include the student’s name, school, grade and name of a parent or guardian. The equivalent fare media, the MCT Local Monthly Pass, is available for adults at $40 a month. For details on the new Student Pass, visit www.mct.org or call (618) 931-7433, Option #3.

Madison County Transit (MCT) provides multi-modal transportation services for the people of Madison County, Illinois. MCT operates a fixed-route bus service, connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis; and seasonal express service to the Rams games and the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route buses, MCT provides complementary paratransit bus service. MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more than 100 miles of trails in Madison County that comprise the MCT Trails bikeway system, as well as overseeing RideFinders, the St. Louis region’s FREE carpooling and vanpooling program.
