MCT ANNOUNCES AUGUST SERVICE CHANGES
MCT to Serve Emerson Park MetroLink Station Effective August 12, 2012
GRANITE CITY, ILL., JULY 9, 2012 . . . As part of its regular August service change, Madison County Transit (MCT) will divert trips on the #5 Tri-City Regional and #18 Collinsville Regional to the Emerson Park MetroLink Station effective Sunday, August 12, 2012.
Highlights of the service change also include the following:
To answer questions about the re-routing of the #5 and #18, MCT will host a public meeting at the MCT Granite City Station on Thursday, July 19 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Questions about the change can also be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 618-931-7433, Option #3.
- On the #5 Tri-City Regional, all trips that serve Gateway Commerce Center on the #5 will also serve Hershey and Dial. MCT will divert all trips that serve the 5th & Missouri MetroLink Station to the Emerson Park MetroLink Station in East St. Louis to improve schedule reliability. Trips that serve Downtown St. Louis will remain unaffected.
- The #18 Collinsville Regional will be re-routed after Collinsville Road and Black Lane to travel on I-55/70 to avoid railroad tracks on Collinsville Road. The #18 will resume service on Collinsville Road at IL-111 and will then travel directly to the Emerson Park MetroLink Station, instead of the current routing to the 5th & Missouri Station. The new route will continue to provide 30-minute service for residents along Collinsville Road in Fairmont City and East St. Louis.
The #18 trip to and from St. Louis will remain unaffected.
- A minor schedule adjustment will also be made to an early morning trip on the #1 Riverbend and the #19 Edwardsville – Collinsville.
For specific schedule details, new timetables dated “August 12, 2012” will be posted online at www.mct.org and will be available at MCT Stations, on MCT buses and at locations throughout Madison County. For details about MCT services, call (618) 931-7433 or visit www.mct.org.
