At its regular April Board Meeting this morning, (Thursday, April 29, 2021), the Madison County Transit (MCT) Board of Trustees presented the
City of Highland with a 14-passenger bus to assist the Highland Senior Center with the transportation of senior citizens and disabled passengers in the community.
The 14-passenger coach-on-chassis bus is equipped with a heavy-duty wheelchair lift and can transport two wheelchairs at a time. The interior consists of vinyl seats and flooring, and contains the latest technology including an automated fire suppression system. The vehicle is leased to the City of Highland by MCT for $1.00 per year. MCT will assist with annual maintenance and will perform regular biennial reviews.
