Effective July 28 – July 31
Attention MCT Express Riders:
Passengers on Pontoon Road, IL-111, and the GCC
Beginning Mon. July 28 through Thurs. July 31, 2008, Pontoon Road will be closed at the railroad tracks between
Sara and Division streets at the border of Granite City and Pontoon Beach for track repair work.
As a result, the #5 Tri-City Metrobus will ONLY travel on Pontoon Road from Nameoki to Maryville.
The #5 will then travel north on Maryville to the SWIC campus. At SWIC it will turn around and do the reverse,
traveling down Maryville, right on Pontoon and resuming its normal route.
To serve Pontoon Beach: A temporary Pontoon Beach Shuttle will follow the usual route of the #5,
starting at McDonald’s, traveling south on IL-111, and turning right onto Pontoon Road.
The bus will follow Pontoon, turn right onto Breckenridge, and left on Morrison to SWIC.
At SWIC, transfers can be made to the #5 for Pontoon Beach passengers traveling to the Tri-Cities,
St. Louis or MetroLink. This shuttle will also make select trips to the Gateway Commerce Center (GCC).
The schedule may vary slightly but we are expecting the times to be comparable.
There will be no service on Pontoon Road from Maryville to Breckenridge during this time.
